Uses

  • Soil Application Purpose
  • To correct boron deficiencies in soils which can cause reduced flowering, fruit set, and growth.
  • Method
  • Directly applied to the soil at planting or pre-sowing.
  • Dosage
  • 5-10 kg/ha (soil-test based) depending on soil boron content.
  • Foliar Spray
  • Boron acts on signaling pathways, enzyme activity regulation, hormones, and metabolic activity, meaning it is integral to the processes of flowing and fruiting.
  • Method
  • It is mixed with water and sprayed on foliage.
  • Concentration
  • 0.1-0.2% solution (1-2 g/l of water).
  • Being used too early or too late in the day can scorch the leaves in between, and so most applications are performed in the early morning or late in the evening.
